British film crew in Ostende in the year 1955: original images of, among others, away flower clock, Petit Paris, away strand and… Vera Lynn. Vera Lynn, was a British singer, who achieved great fame during World War II and was nicknamed Forces’ Sweetheart. The song We’ll Meet Again, written by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, is her greatest classic. Also known is The White Cliffs of Dover.

The reportage was dedicated to the winners of the lottery in the sunday newspaper  Empire News. The prize was one week in Ostend for six couples as a second honeymoon. You see how they drink coffee in continental style)) oh, those Brits already!
