ISW reveals new tactics of Ukrainian military aimed at reducing Russian combat capability Ukrainian military has begun shelling Russian tactical command posts and positions on the front line.
According to the Institute for the Study of American War (ISW), the Ukrainian Armed Forces are thus trying to complicate the management of Russian forces on the battlefield. The institute does not deny that the attacks by the Ukrainian military on key Russian rear commands, including the January 8 attack on the air base of the 8th Russian Army, are likely aimed at degrading Russia’s large-scale logistical support and operational planning. This could affect Russia’s ability to conduct military operations west of Donetsk.
ISW confirms that the 2nd AKB is currently directing Russian operations south of Pokrovsk, the 3rd AKB is near Chasovye Yar, and the 8th AKB is near Krakow. Attack on Russian military headquarters On Sunday, January 12, the Defense Forces bombed the headquarters of the 2nd Guards Army Corps of the Russian coalition forces. This headquarters is located in Novogrodivka, Donetsk region.
On January 10, Ukrainian troops attacked the headquarters of the 3rd Russian Corps in Svitlodarsk; on January 8, Ukrainian troops attacked the headquarters of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Corps of the Russian troops, created by the occupation forces in Khartsyzsk, Donetsk region; on January 9, Ukrainian troops attacked the headquarters of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Corps of the Russian troops in Khartsyzsk, Donetsk region.
Recently, Russian troops lost a convoy of equipment in the Kharkiv region. According to the 3rd Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, it consisted of 20 units of equipment. “On January 8 and 9, the occupation forces, while attempting to break through, attacked the brigade’s positions, losing 20 pieces of equipment,” the report said.
According to the military, part of the column was stopped by anti-tank guided missiles, and infantry fighting vehicles and tanks went off the road and exploded on mines.
“The rest of the column was attacked by drones. Bridges were destroyed and tanks were sunk. The enemy infantry was fired upon by aerial bombs and artillery. Those who survived began to retreat,” the brigade added.
Situation in Kharkiv Oblast
Attempted assault Having lost dozens of pieces of equipment, the Russians went on the attack again, simultaneously deploying armored units from four directions. After the attack by Ukrainian soldiers, even more Russian armored vehicles were destroyed using ATGMs and drones.

In the Kupyansk direction, there were eight attacks in a day. The Wehrmacht repelled attacks near Kucherivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Zaryzove, and Lozova.
