Starting from August 1st, guests of Antwerp cannot park on the streets in the historic city center. Parking in the center will only be allowed for residents with parking permits, some special permit holders (medical workers, entrepreneurs, car dealers), and people with disabilities (upon prior registration). Those who park in the center without a valid permit risk receiving a fine of 44 euros.

The zone of the historic city center with these parking restrictions is located between Brouwersvliet and Ankerrui streets to the north, Leien ring road to the east, Scheldestraat, Kronenburgstraat, and Kasteelpleinstraat to the south, and the Scheldt river to the west (see the map). The adjacent streets themselves are not part of the new parking zone.

Anyone residing in the resident and permit holder parking zone can issue a digital guest pass. With such a pass, guests can park their car on the street for up to three hours.

On Nationalestraat street, parking can be paid for 30 minutes during store hours (from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm). The tariff is 3.80 euros, and payment can be made through an application, SMS (ANX02), or at a machine. Outside of working hours, only residents and permit holders can park on Nationalestraat.

Loading and unloading are still allowed. Loading and unloading refer to the time needed for loading or unloading goods, as well as entering or exiting for people.
